Most athlete editions put a signature on the caseback and call it a day. Tissot’s second Damian Lillard PRX takes a stranger, more interesting route: remove the strap, slip the watch into the supplied leather carrier, and wear it as a pocket watch. It is a basketball collaboration with an escape hatch from the wrist.
The 44 mm steel case frames a burgundy skeleton dial and a small-seconds hand shaped around Lillard’s Dame D.O.L.L.A. mark. Tissot includes burgundy rubber and leather straps, both designed for tool-free changes, plus the pocket-watch carrier and chain. The set costs $2,075 on Tissot’s website. It is available to order there now.

That price invites a comparison with Tissot’s earlier, $950 Lillard PRX. The older model is a 40 mm automatic with an 80-hour reserve. This one is wider, manually wound and rated for 52 hours. If your ideal daily watch disappears under a cuff and keeps itself wound, the original makes more sense. The new one asks you to enjoy the mechanism as part of the ritual.
Why This Movement Belongs in a Pocket Watch
Watch specialist Monochrome identifies the movement as based on the ETA/Unitas 6497. ETA’s technical document describes a large, 36.6 mm hand-wound caliber with small seconds and a typical 52-hour reserve. That architecture started life at pocket-watch scale, which makes Tissot’s detachable carrier more than a party trick: the movement’s size and layout suit both the open dial and the return trip to a pocket. Tissot does not name the caliber on its product page, so the specific base is a specialist identification, not a maker-confirmed specification.

At 44 mm and 11.2 mm thick, this is no discreet PRX. Tissot lists 100 m water resistance, though the leather pocket case is plainly for carrying the watch, not swimming with it. We have not worn it, so comfort, legibility against the exposed movement and how often you would actually use the chain remain open questions. The pocket conversion is clever; the more durable appeal may be the big mechanical dial you get to wind yourself.

Why It’s Cool
The best athlete collaboration here is the one that changes the object, not just its colors. Whether the pocket-watch mode becomes a habit or an occasional flourish, it gives this PRX a reason to exist beside the cheaper automatic.
